Also known as Nine-Eleven, Patriot Day is a time to remember. The impact the attacks that occurred on 9/11/2001 has had on the United States of America as well as the rest of the world is one that is unforgettable. Today we are thankful for the improved safety measures that our governments take to protect us from such terrorists and yet are humbled by the tragedy and sacrifice that occurred on this day 15 years ago. Today we thank the 343 New York City firefighters that lost their lives that day, the men, women, and children who lost their lives aboard the planes and among those in the attacked buildings, the falling man* for teaching us what true fear is, and the selfless volunteers who dug and pulled the mangled bodies from the rubble of one of the most horrific attacks on our beloved country to-date. No, this is not a day to barbeque and relax, but a day of solemnity, reflection, and focus on the rebuilding of this great country once again.
