With Veterans Day coming up, show your appreciation to the veterans in your life and community. Whether big or small, there are a lot of things you can do to honor our Veterans. You can wear a red poppy, participate in the National Two Minutes of Silence, visit a Veteran's Hospital, or donate to organizations that give back to Veterans.
We have gathered various organizations you can choose from in Metro Atlanta to show appreciation to our local Veterans:
Soldiers' Angels
Soldiers’ Angels provides an easy, no-cost way for Atlanta veterans in need to receive food assistance every month. Volunteers pack bags of groceries.
Veterans Empowerment Organization
VEO serves veterans – men, women, and families. They offer a healing campus environment that allows veterans to rebuild their lives.
Atlanta Habitat for Humanity
They help U.S. veterans, military service members, and their families build through a proven program for qualified homebuyers, improve their current homes by completing critical home repairs, and use their skills and talent to give back to their community through volunteering.
Veterans Helping Veterans Foundation
The foundation relies on individual donors and corporations to support its programs, events, and engagements. This is to bring awareness to the 22 Veterans who commit suicide daily and including homeless outreach in Atlanta.
The Warrior Alliance
They help Warriors and their families achieve a fulfilling civilian life by promoting collaboration between the organizations that can support them during the transition from military service.
